Hello, world!

Hi!  I write things.  I’m at the Festival of Faith and Writing at Calvin College in Grand Rapids.  They tell me I need a blog to push my books.  They also say that the Christian readership demographic is 75% female, 45-65 years in age.  I’m in trouble.  I am 45- 65, but not 75% female.

So far, two books have been published.  Both could be characterized as recreational fiction, suitable for Christian adults and others.  They are supposed to be humorous.  For more details, you can check my website at www.donbemis.com.

Heavens to Louie (2007)  Contemporary, small town setting.  Starts with a Christmas pageant gone bad, progresses to Shakespeare gone bad.  Plenty of bad coffee in between at Floyd’s Fountain.

Count Otto’s Dragon (2009)  Not so contemporary, about 1,000 years ago.  Just your usual story of singing rats, dancing plumbers, pirates, Vikings, surly maids, golfing monks, etc.  Oh, and a dragon.
